Sat,
April 21, 2012 - Sun, July 22, 2012, The first solo museum exhibition of DadsonÂ’s work will explore the artistÂ’s intensive fascination with the material & the metaphor of the monochrome. His photographs of lawns painted solid black or white focus on the urban environment as a zone rife with borders; these works suggest voids that have become part of a mysterious, & possibly contentious, narrative. They prefigure his current canvas paintings that transfer the (literally) painted landscape into the realm of abstraction.
